“Sit. Feast on your life.”
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do sessions cost? Do you take insurance?
Yes! I accept the following insurances through Alma: Aetna, Cigna and Optum. Each of these primary insurance companies often houses other insurance companies, so please feel free to contact me if you are unsure about your plan. I can also provide you with paperwork that you can file to receive any out-of-network benefits with your insurance company if it is not listed here. All out-of-pocket session fees are $150 and are due at the time of your session.
Is there a cancellation fee?
If you do not give at least 24 hour notice before cancelling or rescheduling, you will automatically be charged $75.00, half of your session fee.
How long do sessions last?
Each session is about 55 minutes long. We will work together to start and end on time.
How many sessions do we meet for?
There are a lot of factors that determine how long our work together will be, which we can discuss when we meet for the first time. Some people find that meeting indefinitely is nourishing and supportive. Other people find that therapy is most useful for a season of life. For many of us, whether new to therapy or not, we may discover what will be most effective as we go. Of course, there could also be external constraints such as insurance coverage, and financial and time considerations that influence for how long we meet as well.
What is your availability?
I have availability on weekdays. If I am not available for a time you need or if I fill up with clients, I can offer you recommendations of other therapists I respect.
What ages do you see? Do you see couples?
I work with adults ages 18 + and currently work with individuals, and do not offer couples/relationship therapy. I do offer Support Groups throughout the year.
Where do we meet?
I only offer virtual appointments right now, which allows us flexibility and accessibility. I will provide you with easy-to-follow instructions to log onto my HIPPA compliant virtual platform prior to our first session. At this time, counselors are not allowed to see clients across state lines so you must be a New York state resident to see me virtually.
How do I choose a therapist?
I believe that therapeutic “fit” is very important, and I encourage my clients to trust their intuition when selecting a therapist – including me! Here are some things to consider when meeting with a therapist for the first time: Do I feel comfortable talking with this person? Does this person seem interested in me and my lived experiences, and curious about my intersecting identities? Do I feel like I could give this person honest feedback and that they could receive it with curiosity? Can I envision myself having a trusting relationship with this person? I offer free 15-minute phone consultations to prospective clients so that we have an opportunity to think and feel together about whether I would be a good fit for you.
